This week was a little less hectic than usual. I did not have soccer this week because unfortunately we did not make it to playoffs. I am sad to say it is over but I am also glad it is over because it has opened up more time for me to workout. I was able to work out everyday after school this week, which was honestly great. It was a constant flow everyday which made things a lot easier. I also chose to workout Saturday and today as well. I was just in the mood to get some more cardio and other things in and it was only going to benefit me.
My goals over the course of this project were to lose at least ten pounds and decrease my mile time. Unfortunately I only met one of these goals. I met the weight loss goal within the first few weeks and I then decided to increase the amount of weight I needed to lose to fifteen pounds. I met that goal within the next few weeks of me increasing it. My other goal as you know was to decrease my mile time. I was not able to meet this over the course of the project, but I did get very close to the time I wanted. I have decided that I am going to continue the project after the deadline is up. I am choosing to do this because it is going to benefit me in the long run. This week was the last week of Genius Hour (which is the name of my project if you have forgotten). I think this was a great project for me and all my classmates. It really helped to push us all. I would honestly do it again. I am so glad that I was able to meet at least one of my goals. Thank you to all who read my blogs and thank you to all who helped me out throughout the course of this project. This will probably be my last blog post. Thank you all!!

As always I had a busy week. I had three soccer games this week and they were all very important. These games determined if we made it to playoffs or not, results on whether or not we made it to playoffs have not been finalized yet. If we did not make playoffs that means soccer season is over so I will have time to workout after school now. Being able to workout after school is going to be a really good thing for me. Since I had the three soccer games this week I was not able to work out on those days. That is nothing new though, it has pretty much become a normal thing. I had two days of soccer practice, when I got home I would workout more. This week I also decided to go run in the mornings. Running in the mornings went towards the days I was not able to workout after school. I also worked out this weekend to make up for the days lost during the week. I think I was able to complete the five days of working out this week.
As you know my original goal was to lose ten pounds and I met that within the first couple weeks. I then decided to increase the amount to fifteen pounds. I have also met that goal. I think I am going to increase the amount again even after the project ends because it will be beneficial. My other goal was to decrease my mile time. I have really tried to focus on that the past couple weeks but I have not met the goal I originally set. I am not sure if I am going to be able to meet the goal before the deadline for my project is up but I am still working on it. Over the course of this project I have made many changes, figured out ways to stay motivated and made a lot of different decisions about my lifestyle. It has truly been an amazing project. I am sad that it is almost over, but it is not quite yet. So come back next week for more! So my week was very very busy. I had four soccer games this week. Since I had so many games I only had one day to workout after school. It honestly sucked having so many games because I did not get home until late each of those nights. I had so much homework to do as well so it was frustrating trying to find the time to workout. Since I pretty much only had one day to workout during the week I had to workout this weekend. Working out on the weekend still only made it three days that I worked out this week. I usually work out five days a week. I did not know how to fit another two days of working out into my week. Therefore, I only worked out three days this week. I honestly did not think it was a good idea to not work out as much because it could have led me to becoming a little less motivated.
As I have mentioned I increased my weight loss goal to fifteen pounds and over the course of this week I met the goal. I did not increase the amount of weight I needed to lose though, because I was not sure if it was the best idea. I am still currently on the rocks with the idea. My other goal that needed to be met was decreasing my mile time. As I have mentioned I am trying to focus more on that goal. Unfortunately, I have still not met the goal but I have made some progress, which is exciting. This project is almost over, which is honestly kind of sad. It made a huge difference in my life. I would have never thought a project for school would be so beneficial. I have been going back and forth with the idea of continuing this project after the deadline is up. I think it would be a good thing to continue and it is good to stay consistent with something. I do not think I would keep the blog updated but I am really set on sticking to the routine. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Come back next week for more! As always my week has been hectic, that is nothing different. I had soccer all week as usual. However, I did not have as many games this week because of the crazy weather we are having. It was actually really relieving not to have so many games because I was actually able to work out this week. I got to workout after school three days this week. That is more days than I have ever been able to work out after school. Since I did have two games I was not able to workout those two days because I did not get home until later those two nights. Since I was not able to workout those days, I worked out this weekend to make up for it. As usual I had to find the time to fit the workout into my day and make sure I stuck to the routine.
My original goal of losing ten pounds has already been met. So I did increase the amount to fifteen pounds and I have currently been focusing on that goal. The last time I checked my weight I was literally a pound away from meeting my goal. I have not yet decided if I want to increase the amount again. My mom gave me her opinion about increasing it again and she thinks it would be a good idea but she told me that I did not need to lose too much weight. So I am currently on the edge about what I should do. My other goal was to decrease my mile time and as I mentioned in my previous post I have not met this goal yet. I will say I have not been as focused on this goal. This week I tried to run a little more and I tried to focus on the goal. I did not make any progress this week, but I figured I needed to give it a little more time. As I have said time and time again I am actually glad that I chose this as my project. It has really been a great thing to do and it has helped me out a lot. I feel so much better mentally and it is truly amazing. I hope you decide to keep reading! Come back next week for more. This week has been chaotic as always. Things were all over the place. It was hard to keep track of the workout routine as usual. I tried to workout a little more than usual this week. I felt like I was behind with my routine so therefore I felt the need to try and make up for the lack of working out.
There were two days this week where I chose to wake up a little earlier than normal and go run before I had to go to school. Doing this before school was honestly a pretty good idea, it made me feel a lot better throughout the day. It woke me up and got me ready for the day. Since I had three soccer games this week I was not able to workout after school because I did not get home all three nights until almost 10:00 p. m. Not getting home until late really sucked, especially since I did not have the time to workout. On the days that I had practice I chose to add more and more to my routine. I feel like this helped a little bit, it kind of made up for the days I couldn't work out. I also worked out on the weekend to make up for the days lost during the school week. I have not quite met my 15 pound goal yet but I am getting close. I still have a couple weeks of this project left and I have actually been thinking about increasing the amount of weight I need to lose again. My other goal was to decrease my mile time and I have not met that goal yet and I am not sure if I am going to be able to. In the next few weeks I am going to try and focus on meeting that goal. Keep reading next week to find out more! Last week was spring break so I had a lot of time on my hands to focus on my routine. I was able to develop a better meal plan and workout a lot more than I could during the school week. It was truly a great week and it was very relaxing. Having the week off and not having to focus on school as well was great!
Unfortunately school started back up this week and it was very tiring. The entire week was dreadful, I had so much homework and I had three soccer games so it was very hectic. As usual I was not able to workout of the days that I had soccer games so I had to make up for it by adding more to my routine on the days that I did not have games. I also had to workout on the weekend as well to make up for the days I lost during the school week. Only being able to workout two days during the week because of soccer has become pretty normal to me. I have found a way to work around it and I am still able to work towards reaching my goal, which is a good thing. So as I mentioned in my blog post last week I decided to increase the amount of weight I need to lose to fifteen pounds. I think increases the amount was a great idea it has genuinely helped me a lot. It has helped me out tremendously in soccer, it has allowed me to be able to persevere in games. I has also helped me mentally and physically as well. I feel a lot better about myself recently and it is great. I am looking forward to seeing what else I can accomplish in the next couple weeks! Well I am basically halfway through this project. Things have started to get a little more chaotic in my everyday life. It is starting to get a little difficult to keep track of the project. As mentioned last week I did not have much time to workout. It was hard to find that time since I had three soccer games for school and lots of homework. However, this week was spring break so I had more time on my hands to be able to workout. I repeated my routine two to three times a day this week. I would do it in the morning and then again at night. I would also run on top of completing my routine. It may not make up for missing some days last week but it was worth a shot.
Having this week off also gave me a chance to look over my nutritional choices as well. I was able to take a better look at what I was eating and how it was affecting me. Over the span of the week I put together a better meal plan. I plan on sticking to it the rest of the year. I am even considering sticking to it after the project ends. Over the course of time we have been doing this project I have already met my weight loss goal. Since I have already met the goal I decided to increase the amount of weight I need to lose to fifteen pounds. I am currently working on meeting this goal. If i meet this goal before the end of the project I am going to increase the amount again. I have not met my mile time goal yet. I am getting very close but it is difficult. I am started to get a little frustrated that I can not meet it. However, I do know that it takes time so hopefully I can meet the goal. I think choosing to base my project on a workout routine was a great idea. Not only has it kept me motivated but it has helped me out a lot. It has helped me mentally and physically. Since I started the routine I have felt better about myself. I would like to continue this after the school year! Once again this week has been very chaotic and it has been hard to keep track of my workout routine. I had several soccer games this week so I did not get home until very late. Since I was not home I was not able to do my workout three days out of the week. The other two days I was able to do my normal routine, I did however choose to add a little more to my routine to make up for the days I was not able to workout. I also chose to workout on Saturday and Sunday as well to help fill in for the days I missed during the week. It was hard to stay motivated during the week because I was so tired from soccer practice and soccer games.
As I mentioned in one of my previous post it is a little hard for me to stay motivated. I also mentioned that I had came up with a way to stay motivated and that is by having an incentive for myself every time I make it through the week and complete my workout every day. My mother decided she would be willing to take a part in this idea. She said that if I stuck to my plan and completed my workout every single day that he would give me ten dollars at the end of every week to go towards whatever I needed it for. I thought it was a great idea because I could really use the gas money to get places. So far having this incentive has helped me to stay more focused on the routine. I am getting very close to meeting the original goal I had set for myself so I am not sure what I am going to do if I meet the goal before the end of the project. Many people have told me I should increase my goal to challenge myself but I am not completely sure how I feel about doing that. If you have any advice on what I should do it would really help out a lot! This week was a relaxing kind of week. I did not do much over the week related to soccer at school. I also did not have a lot of homework this week either. I was able to focus more on my workout routine this week. I altered it a little bit throughout the week to work around what I did in soccer practice this week. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I used my basic routine. On Thursday and Friday I changed the amount of time I needed to run to 25 minutes of steady paced running. I also increased the amount of sit ups and squats. I am getting really close to meeting my weight loss goal. I am starting to get excited about meeting the goal so I am pushing myself more that way I can meet the goal quicker.
As I mentioned last week it has been a little difficult to stay motivated throughout the course of the project. Just recently I came up with a way to get myself motivated and stay motivated. I decided to come up with an incentive to reward myself if I stick to my plan of working out and maintaining a good routine. I have not figured out what the incentive would be so if anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated. I originally had the plan to set up a meal plan for the course of this project. I thought having a meal plan to stick to would help me to meet my goal a whole lot quicker. I began to make it and for some time I followed the plan very precisely. It was not very well put together but it was better than nothing. So far following the meal plan has helped to decrease the amount of time it has taken me to lose weight. It was not until this week that my meal plan started to fall through. I found it especially difficult to stick to it this week and I don't really know why. Hopefully in the next few weeks I can get back on track. This project has really made a big difference in my daily life and it has genuinely helped me a lot. Oh boy! Where do I even begin? This week was very stressful and overwhelming. It was very chaotic and I had a lot going on. I had several soccer games and I had practice too. I did a lot of running this week. I did more than my original goal of fifteen minutes. It was hard to maintain the workout this week with everything else I had going on outside of this project. The days I had soccer games it was especially hard. I did not get home until very late so I was not able to go through the full routine on those days. I did however work out this Saturday and today. Working out today and yesterday replaced the two days during the week that I did not work out.
I am already starting to become a little less motivated toward my goal. I know this is not a good thing and I am trying to figure out another way to keep myself motivated. My parents are still playing a role in keeping me motivated but they have been busy too; so they have not been able to prioritize keeping me motivated. I have gotten closer to my goal of losing ten pounds! I am starting to get excited about my progress. I honestly did not know if I was going to be able to fulfill this goal. I have thought about increasing the amount of weight I need to lose since I still have basically nine weeks left of the project. I want to see how much progress I can make in the next couple months. If anyone has any advice that would be greatly appreciated! I am so glad I have been able to almost meet my goal and make such great progress! I hope you all are following along! If you have any tips on how to make more progress just leave it in the comments! |
